Simple Definition
For hourly workers, holiday pay (8.33% for 4 weeks, 10.64% for 5 weeks) is paid on top of the hourly wage instead of taking paid days off.
Why this matters to Expats.
The Trap: You see a high hourly rate, but it includes your holiday money. If you spend it, you have no money for your actual vacation. Save that 8.33% yourself!
