Why this matters to Expats.

A cornerstone of the Swiss health system. If you break a leg or are elderly, Spitex comes to you. It is covered by Basic Insurance (minus deductible).

Actionable Intelligence

Prescription: You need a doctor's order (Verordnung) for Spitex to be covered by insurance.

Non-Medical: Spitex also offers "Help at Home" (Cleaning/Shopping), but this is usually NOT covered by basic insurance unless you have supplementary.
